Vedic Meditation

Meditation has become one of those overused words, that diluted the original meaning. Somehow we began to believe that meditation meant you need to STOP your thinking, stop your thoughts! That’s like trying to stop a Ferrari at top speed, mid race! Can you see how unreasonable that is? Not to mention, unrealistic.
Vedic Mediation is a 5 to 7 thousand year old practice that originated from Ancient Sages who brought this practice to humanity. It is a practice, like you practice an instrument or sport, but you’re practicing focus. If you’ve ever watched a child learn an instrument, in the beginning everything feels awkward and unrefined. That doesn’t mean that they CANT play it, it means they NEED to practice. They simply need to learn. Mediation is the same way.
So many people tell me they can’t meditate, their mind is way to busy, and it’s just too hard. Well, if your’e trying to stop thinking or quiet your mind, then – yup – that is hard. I personally have suffered from a neurodivergent mind that I too believed there was no way I could meditate. 14 years later this practice is a daily staple that nourishes, not only my mind, but my heart and Soul. I won’t say it’s was as easy as falling off a log, but it kinda is, if you follow the guidelines.
Vedic Meditation gives you 1 word to focus on. They call the word a MANTRA – which literally translates to ‘man’ = MIND, and TRA = vehicle or transportation. The sound itself IS the vehicle your mind gets INTO. It’s like having a personal chauffeur for your busy mind!
In 2023 I became a certified Vedic Meditation Teacher. This certification was a dream come true. Understanding where my own mind started ~ fragile…. obsessive….. and shattered, is my driving force to share this powerful, sacred practice with others who feel defeated by their own mind.
