If your mind is giving a person or experience or a situation attention, whether you’re enjoying the experience or not, you’re asking for MORE of that person, or experience.
Trump is a great example. He’s all over the press whether you like him or not, your mind is attending to him. Meaning, it doesn’t matter what your intention is, it matters that you’re focused on him, which helps him build momentum.
Righteousness keeps you focused ~ this is the RIGHT thing to do!!! How do you stop yourself from running head long down that rabbit hole? How do you choose to turn your attention from ‘righteousness’ to intergrity.
It helps when you become aware you’re intentionally being distracted. Watch how quickly you forget about xyz, when something goes against your beliefs.
Hmmm, how can I get people who normally refuse, to GIVE ME their attention?
Let’s piss them off and try to take away something they fought hard to earn!! Women don’t have a right to choose to abort. Hook, line and sinker……… gotcha, distracted. Or what about OMG, a felon is running for President …… gotcha.
You’ve given away your personal power, the very thing you say you’re fighting for, your choice.
You want your CHOICE back, know when you’re being baited, and choose …… to place your attention on where you can make a difference.
I choose to realize any and every situation mirrors something inside of me. When I feel I’m about to lose something near and dear to my heart, I do my best to recognize my defenses, and then find the opportunity. No one can take away my rights unless I’ve already given them away.
Good press, bad press,….. it still feeds the same beast. No press, though, no press starves the beast.
